The school achieved notable success at the Shri Ram Global School's Inter-School Theatre Competition, winning three prestigious awards. Vedanshi Mittal from Grade 1 stood out in the ‘Show and Tell’ event with her engaging presentation on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In the ‘Story Dramatization’ category, Grade II students Karuna, Harzaan, Zannat, Ahaan, and Alisha effectively highlighted sustainability themes. Additionally, Grade IV and V students Aranav, Sonit, Navya, Asyansh, Prabudh, Sanchit, and Agamveer delivered impactful performances in the ‘Nukkad Natak’(Street Play), addressing significant social issues.
The school students Excelled at National AI Student Challenge (AISC) Gurjot Singh and Baljinder Singh brought honours by taking first place in the highly competitive AI Student Challenge (AISC), which was organised by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in partnership with Intel. The challenge, themed ‘CV Connoisseur’, tested participants' abilities to develop AI solutions, with a special focus on computer vision applications. Gurjot Singh won first place with his creative project, ‘Skin Guard’, which is an advanced version of LLava using the Transformers library. The model detects skin diseases through image analysis, bridging healthcare gaps by providing early, accessible, and accurate detection, especially in underprivileged communities. Baljinder Singh took third place with his outstanding project, ‘Plant-Lens’. With the use of artificial intelligence, this tool combines computer vision and natural language processing to make plant identification and analysis easier. It provides researchers and educators with an intuitive, cloud-based interface on Google Colab that allows them to do personalised botanical queries and excursions.
The School students have once again proven their mettle by achieving remarkable success in various competitions held recently.
In the Zonal Chess Competition, Under-19 boys and girls teams displayed exceptional skills and strategy, both securing the 2nd position. The boys’ team comprised Yuvraj, Tanish, and Aakash from class IX Lily along with Dhruv Kumar from class X Tulip. The girls’ team included Samridhi and Pranjal from class IX Rose, Saanvi from class IX Daisy, and Gurtej from class X Rose.
The school also showcased its prowess in the Inter BCM Chess Competition, where the Under-17 Boys’ Team clinched the 1st position. The team included Jasdeep Singh from XI Science B, Divyansh from X M/G, Agam Maini from X Daisy, Sudhanshu and Dhruv from X Tulip.
In Table Tennis, the Under-17 Boys' team secured the 1st position. Three students have been selected for the district-level competition: Shivansh from Class VIII Aster (Under-17), Harnoor from Class X Tulip (Under-17) and Manroop from Class VIII Aster (Under-14).
Adding another feather to the school's cap, Piyush Sharma emerged victorious by securing the 1st position in the Under-17 Boys’ Karate Competition, earning a spot at the District Level. In the Under-19 Boys’ Karate Tournament, Samrveer claimed 1st Position and was selected for the District Level. Hunardeep and Ujjwal both secured 2nd positions while Mann Saluja achieved 3rd position, highlighting the school's dominance in the event.
Additionally, in the Under-14 Boys' Karate Competition, the school team won 3rd position with students Rhythm (Class VII Rose), Samarth (Class VIII Marigold), and Sachleen (Class VII Daisy) all securing third place in their respective categories.
It is a matter of pride that Sukhman Singh and his team’s design representing the Lunasat along with the country and its culture has been featured in the GLEE Newsletter. Their design got selected through Monthly Media Hunt organised by GLEE Team.

The Student Exchange Programme in collaboration with YFU proved enriching for Parneet Kaur Sodhi (XI Humanities)of BCM School, Dugri. The expedition gave her intercultural understanding, life-long learning, global competencies, mutual respect, and social responsibility. She not only got a chance to stay with the Japanese family but also had a glimpse into their schooling, cuisines, language and religious ethics too. It was not just an academic experience for her but wholesome learning about a new country, its way of living and its people. She expressed her heartfelt gratitude towards the School Management and the Principal for providing her the opportunity of self development which would further lead to enhanced self confidence and self esteem.
With an objective to provide students a common platform to compete and showcase their talent in Abacus and Mental Arithmetic calculations, GËNIUS ACADÉMIÉ, Ludhiana organized an Abacus and Mental Arithmetic Competition on Jan.29, 2023. Twenty students of BCM School, Dugri, out of 77 students of various schools have brought laurels to city and school by winning the competition in their respective module and category. All the participants were awarded Medals and Certificates.
Augmenting another pearl in the bounty of attainments and bringing in recognition to the school, Sukhman Singh of XII Science bagged first prize in an open Innovation Challenge organised by IM Punjab and PCTE on May 11, 2022. It was an open challenge for school, college, university students and for all working professionals in Punjab, wherein anybody can participate by presenting their ideas. Around 25 schools and colleges throughout Punjab participated in the competition. The main aim of the competition was to find the next big entrepreneur from Punjab through an Ideathon targeting youngpreneurs.
Sukhman Singh made a mark by presenting his idea on Sign Language Translator, which was appreciated by the jury. His idea was adjudged as the most innovative idea of the month. He also got a monetary reward of rupees 10000/- along with the certificate. Dr. Vandna Shahi, the school Principal commending the achievement, encouraged other students to idealise the achiever and aim big. She motivated her students saying that nothing is impossible and hardwork always pays.
The young innovators participated in Global Lunar Exploration for Everyone (GLEE), a workshop event, inspired by NASA's Apollo mission. Thousands of schools across the world took part in the workshop. BCMites made their mark by securing their place among the 212 selected teams. They were chosen after being evaluated on the basis of their innovative ideas, knowledge, life skills, community cooperation and experience. The Great Lunar Expedition for Everyone is an international student mission which intends to send hundreds of miniature spacecraft called Luna-Sats to surface of the Moon to conduct scientific and technological experiments through hands-on participation by students from every member country of the United Nations by 2023. Its mission is to bring STEM education opportunities to anyone interested in learning.
The selected team of four students of the school, Sukhman Singh, Anurav Saini, Manleen Singh of XII Science and Ankit Pandey of Class X, will be mentored by GLEE program staff. The participants will be provided guidance through out the process of designing, building, testing, launching and data gathering. They will receive a LunaSat kit and have access to the modules containing base version of the LunaSat. It will have an area for them to add more sensors from an approved list provided by the GLEE Science Team. They will also be able to add code to the LunaSats for these sensors allowing them to carry out their own lunar science mission.
Considering it a great achievement at International Level, the School Principal, Dr. Vandna Shahi applauded their accomplishment wholeheartedly and congratulated team mentor Ms. Neena Tiwari and her group for adding one more feather in BCM Dugri's cap. She also wished them all the success for their future endeavours. It is a glorious moment for the school as four of its talented artists got their art exhibits displayed during the virtual 27th National Annual Conference of Sahodaya School Complexes hosted by Gwalior Sahodaya Smiti. Dirgha Gupta(XII Science), Hargunjeet Kaur (XII Humanities), Preetkamal Kaur (XII Commerce), Ridhi Dawar (XII Humanities) beautifully portrayed their idea on theme 'What India means to them' on canvas. Their artwork marked their winning presence in the prestigious NAV KALA - VITHIKA an e-Exhibition during the conference. Aagastya Kaushik of class II daisy made all the Bcmiets proud through his achievement in 6th ISKU National Karate Championship 2021.He bagged 3rd position in (8 years) Individual boys Kumite which was held on 25 and 26 December 2021 in Meerut.He is selected for self defence training camp which will be held on 20-26 April 2022 in Ontario, Canada.

International Space Olympiad motivates students to endeavour for better and a deeper understanding of space science. Our young achiever Amritjyot Singh of XII Science participated in this Olympiad and brought laurels by clearing final round of International Space Olympiad. He bagged 4th Rank in State and Rank 33 in India.
BRIDGE INTELIA virtual science fair was conducted for the students of classes 1-12. It is a moment of pride for us that our students brought laurels to the school by bagging consolation prizes in different categories. Stories always give wings to our imagination and take us to place beyond the boundaries of physical world. Keeping this in mind, Teenager Talent Virtual Program: Hindi Storytelling Competition was conducted at National Level for grades II-X by “Everyone Star Organization” on digital portal YouTube. The objective of the competition was to provide an opportunity for students to develop an appreciation for the beauty of Hindi language. It also aimed to hone students’ skills in imagining and visualizing stories and enhance their presentation and communication skills by sharing their stories with others. The participants made Story Telling videos which were uploaded on YouTube. They were adjudged on the basis of content, voice modulation, confidence and creativity. The stories were liked and appreciated by the viewers and judges. BCMites bagged different positions at District, State and National level. Certificates were provided to the winners along with all participating students.
